I'm posting this everywhere I can because we need all the good thoughts we can get.
He's been sick for a week now, and hospitalized for most of that time. His vets still can't figure out specifically what is wrong despite extensive tests, and he doesn't seem to be responding well to the treatments they are trying. My husband got him to eat a bit yesterday, but he vomited again last night. He is just not keeping any food down or in, and that's not good. We are at a loss.
Please think good thoughts for our kitty. Help us to love him back to health again. We want him to come home. His sister misses him. We miss him. We love him very much, and we just want him well again. Thank you.
He's got an oogey tummy today. Actually, Kali's the only member of the Dietschyblossom family who isn't experiencing a major bout of The Yuck right now.
The vet said to just keep an eye on him, and if he's still having issues tomorrow, to call and make an appointment. He's comfortble enough now that he's napping, but he had a really bad morning.
Poor little squid.
How many pets have you owned in your lifetime? Tell us about them.

First, there was Brandy the awesome wonderful dog, who was part of our family from the time I was a wee little tot until midway through my senior year of high school. I can't believe I don't have any photos scanned of him.
Then there was T.T. - which was how I said "kitty". I have no memory of this, but I think my mom said T.T. accidentally got run over by a car.
After T.T. came Quie - tiny little critter when we got him, and we thought he was a girl so named him Suzie Q... and when we found that he was a boy, that changed to Quie. Silly name, but he was an awesome cat, and died a week after Brandy did. They were buddies and we think he just died of a broken heart (Awwww). (I also, inexplicably, don't have any photos of him online.)
Also when I was a kid, my dad brought home puppies (Samson and Sheba) and a Norwegian Dwarf rabbit (Budgie), and they lived with us for a brief period of time before going on to other homes - as I recall, Sam lived with my dad's cousin's family and had a long, happy life; Sheba was admitted to Leader Dog school; Budgie went back to the person who had given him to my dad - a coworker who bred the rabbits.
When I was about 10 years old, I got the first pet that was really MINE. That would be Cindy, also known as Cinders. Teeny tiny and fiesty as all get out. She lived to the ripe old age of 19, and passed away after a short but horrible illness, at home. You can't imagine how I cried.
My ex-husband and I had two cats together - Riley and Nikko - and they still live with him in Michigan. Riley we adopted soon after we moved in together, probably in '97 or '98, and we adopted Nikko when he was 11 years old, a few months after Cinders died. Riley was lonely and needed a companion, and I fell in love with Nikko at first sight at an adoption fair. Leaving them behind when we split and I moved away was extremely difficult, but it was the right decision and the best thing for them. But I still miss them, and think of them often.
So that brings us to the present, and my two little superstars, Kali and Dubya. They're 5. They totally rock my world.
